Standing in the middle of the abandoned campground's swimming pool

The old swimming pool has been filled in so as not to pose a hazard to visitors like me. The old tile work of the pool protrudes above ground a little at the centre-right of the photo.

Death Valley, where I started this morning, is straight ahead beyond the mountains behind the abandoned campground, about 3500 feet down.
